剧情简介
Murad, a young man, lives by the old ethical norms that are still valid in the suburbs of the city where he lives. Murad had promised Tofig, his childhood friend, to give him his sister as a wife, but Tofig is in love with another girl. He forgets the promise and takes the girl home. Murad is offensed. According to the code of honour he must take revege. One of the first films ever produced in the Soviet Union to challenge the sosial-politocal establishment.
According to its genre, the film "In a Souther Town" is a comedy, or rather tragicomedy of morals and manners. It's important to understand it properly in order not to notice only exotics instead of the exactly shown reality; not to find gloominess instead of humorous, occsionally tough perception, sober rumination. Also the film is credited - with the very definite, morale, ideologial position.
